Himachal Tourism gets 25th Award

Himachal Tourism has been conferred with 25th Award for ‘Har Gaon Ki Kahani’ scheme launched to diversify tourism activities to promote rural tourism, at a prestigious inaugural Award Ceremony of International Tourism Conclave and Travel Award function here today. The Award presented by Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, was received by Smt. Manisha Nanda, Principal Secretary Tourism and Dr. Arun Sharma, Director of Tourism and Civil Aviation on behalf of the Department.

RTI has empowered Citizens

Right to Information Act (RTI) is a step towards empowering the citizens of the country for seeking information from public authorities and exercise their ‘right to know’ and make themselves aware of the government working. This was stated by Shri S.S. Parmar, State Information Commissioner in his Keynote address in a day-long seminar on ‘Improving Transparency and Accountability in Government through Effective Implementation of RTI Act, 2005’, at HIPA here today. The seminar was organized by Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (HIPA) in collaboration with Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India.

e-PDS system to be introduced in Una on experimental basis

Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Shri Ramesh Dhawala,  disclosed that e-PDS system would be introduced in Una District on experimental basis to check fake ration cards and added that State Government had demanded Rs. 19.50 crore from the central Government for this project which would be implemented in the entire State soon. He was addressing a review meeting of the Department of Food and Civil Supplies here today.

Himachal proposed Rs. 22800 crore for 12th Five Years Plan

Himachal Pradesh has proposed Rs. 22800 crore for 12th Five Years Plan (2012-13 to 2016-17) and Annual Plan 2012-13 for Rs. 3700 crore. This was decided in Himachal Pradesh State Planning Board meeting held here today under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal.

MahaShivratri International Fair

Mandi.   Madhav Rao is the Guardian diety of the State/District and to him all Honour is due on all State occasions. He is the Principal diety of the numberless Gods whom the people of Mandi have chosen to fear, worship and propitate. This nature of the Hindu pantheon is emphasized when during the Shivratri Fair all the local Gods & Goddesses gather in the town & pay Honour to Madhav Rao.


Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, was presented a draft of Rs. 1.75 crore by Shri Rakesh Sinha, Director (Plant) and Shri Sanjiv Kapoor, Head – Public Affairs, as final instalment of Rs. 4.00 crore donation committed by the Associated Cements Company (ACC) Barmana, here today.
