Shimla: As many as 1,300 more personnel would be added into the state police force while class IV employees of the department would be provided one per cent reservation to be elevated to the post of constables. This was disclosed by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal while addressing the 11th passing-out parade ceremony at Police Training College, Daroh, in Kangra today. 559 personnel including four women trainees passed out from PTC Daroh.
The Chief Minister said that the state police was being strengthened as more reserve battalions had been raised in the state. He said that during past three years, 2,490 youth had been provided entry into state police and others promotional avenues. He said that 99 youth had been recruited to the posts of sub-inspectors, 55 elevated to different gazetted ranks, 185 inspectors, 311 sub-inspectors, 473 assistant sub-inspectors and 1,037 constables had been promoted. He said that the government had decided to promote 50 per cent of the constables from amongst the direct recruitees passing B-1 test while remaining 50 per cent would be promoted on the basis of merit-cum seniority.Read Full Story
