Himachal, Uttarakhand CMs for PMs intervention to restore industrial package

Shimla: Chief ministers of Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand on Wednesday have written to the Prime Minister, asking him to reconsider restoration of the special industrial granted to them that expired in March, this year.

Speaking to reporters chief ministers Prem Kumar Dhumal and Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank here today said, “We did write a joint letter today requesting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to intervene and restore the industrial package to its full term up to 2013.”

The duo held that the central government was discriminating with BJP ruled states by not extending the industrial package.

“Whereas a similar industrial package to northeastern states and Jammu and Kashmir has been extended till 2017, our 10 year package was curtailed to 7 years and closed down in March,” they said.Read Full Story
