Thawing of glaciers trigger flash flood in Pangi Valley

Shimla: Thawing of glaciers due to fresh inclement weather conditions prevailing in the tribal belt of Himachal Pradesh for last two days disrupted normal life as many roads were washed away, even as a Pangi valley of Chamba district witnessed a flash flood. The information received from the valley said that flash flood and landslides occurred due to quick melting of glaciers in the high reaches, affected road link to Killar, (headquarter of Pangi), with its three panchayats namely Sural, Dharwas and Tuj this morning, stranding hundreds of people on way to Killar.Read Full Story
