Shiimla: Summer power generation at the country’s largest hydro electric plant, the 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri station peaked in April-May, producing a record 1366 million units (MU) of power that is up by more than 25 percent when compared with last year’s corresponding period.
HK Sharma, CMD of SJVN that operates the Jhakri plant said, “Compared to last year’s generation of 1086 MU in April-May, this year we have had a generation of 1366 MU. Having raised the bar, we had set a target of 1228 MU for the two months and have surpassed that even, he added.
