Monsoon disrupts air traffic to Himachal

Shimla: Monsoon become active in Himachal Pradesh yesterday and brought rainfall in most parts of the state, disrupting road and air traffic.

Flights on the Delhi-Shimla and Delhi-Kullu routes remained suspended today due to inclement weather. Jubberhati-based Indian Airport Authority officials disclosed that flight operations would be operated on Wednesday if the weather allows.

According to state meteorological director Manmohan Singh, significant rainfall occurred in the state during the last 24 hours. Nalagarh in Solan received 72 mm rainfall, tourist hill station Kasauli 48 mm, Kandaghat 57 mm, Solan town 46 mm and Arki 39mm. In Sirmour district Pachhad was lashed with 72 mm rainfall, Nahan 66 mm, Rajgarh 57 mm, Renuka 41mm, Sangrah-35 mm. In Hamirpur district Mehre recorded 71 mm, Bhoranj-62mm, Berthin, 57 mm and Hamirpur town 48 mm and Nadaun-38.Read Full Story
