St Bede’s once again headed for glory

Shimla: The financial crisis that entangled St Bede’s College created quite a stir in 2008 and there were rumours of the oldest girls’ college in the country being shut down due to lack of funds. But by defying all the odds, the century-old institution has proved that it is more than a college – it’s a living heritage that no one wants to lose.

So, after the government took some unpopular decisions that directly affected the college, the media protested, ex-Bedians from all over the world protested and all those who loved the town too joined in. A silent protest march was organized by the students to show their concern for their beloved institution. Through all this and much more, the college stood and stood well.
