Shimla: About 400 doctors appointed through various Rogi Kalyan Samitis (RKS) in different hospitals of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday went on mass leave to protest against alleged discrimination by the state government against them, paralyzing health services in most far-flung, tribal and other parts of the state.
The fresh agitation was triggered as during a recent cabinet meeting the state government opted to recruit 150 doctors through State Public Service Commission, overlooking these doctors.
Terming the step discriminating against 400 RKS appointed and contractual doctors, president of Joint Action Protest Committee Navneet Rathore alleged in a statement issued to media that the government discriminated the RKS doctors by ignoring them.Read Full Story
