ADHPL commissions 192-MW green project at Manali

Shimla: The first phase of the 192 MW Allain Duhangan Hydro Project Limited (ADHPL) near Manali on the bank of Allain river has been successfully got commissioned recently, top functionary of project said.

According to Ravi Jhunjhunwala, chairman, LNJ Bhilwara Group, Allain Duhangan hydro power project began its power generation recently. With the commissioning of this plant, the total installed capacity of the Bhilwara Group in hydro power has gone up to 300 MW, making it one of the country’s leading private players in renewable energy sector.

ADHPL is a subsidiary of Malana Power Company limited. MPCL was in turn a joint venture between Bhilwara Energy Limited (BEL) and Norway’s SN Power with a holding of 51 per cent and 49 per cent respectively. MPCL has an operational 86 MW project at Kullu, which was commissioned in 2001. Assuring to move ahead in the power sector, Jhunjhunwala disclosed that the company is all set to rationalise its capabilities and create many more state-of-the-art hydro power projects.Read Full Story
